Photography Project: Call for models
Hi-
I am an art student, Lebanese and nonreligious. I am working on a photography project concerning gays in the Middle East. I want to take portraits of Gay people of the Middle East wearing Burqas to symbolize the veiling and secrecy of the gay individual in their culture due to shame, family and societal pressures. The series would hopefully talk about and/or reference struggles to conceal1s identity as a homosexual.
This photo series is strictly professional. Nudity might be involved to expose the sex of the person underneath the abayas but identities would be concealed with the burqa.
My main concern is to bring awareness and hopefully some sort of community/liberation to the person being photographed.
I would appreciate suggestions and am open to any. I would also love your thoughts on this project.
