I was born, among other things, Muslim. After high school, I started identifying as Humanist. I didn’t consider myself Muslim because I don’t practice and I’m not sure I believe in1 true path. After 9-11, I started identifying as Muslim again. Partly as a backlash to the backlash and partly to claim cultural space within the Muslim spectrum for people like me (whatever that may be).
